Hi-Point Genetics is very proud to introduce “The G.O.A.T” to the public. Born in March 2024, we reluctantly showed him to a few people during the fall breeding season. Even though we knew we had as good a set of Hampshire boars as we’d ever put together, we also knew that once customers saw The Goat, they would instantly want to use him. Unfortunately, he wasn’t old enough to collect at that time.

We began collecting him at just five months old, and now, we’ve got a handful of January pigs getting ready to hit the ground—we couldn’t be more excited! At eight months old, The Goat is an absolute creature. Not since Point Maker have we had this feeling about what a Hampshire boar can do, not only for us at Hi-Point Genetics but for the Hampshire breed as a whole. There’s truly nothing else out there like him.

His mother was the Champion Hampshire Gilt at OYE  two years ago. We bred her to Meltdown, combining the heaviest-boned sow on the farm with the heaviest-boned boar. While bone alone doesn’t solve every problem, when you combine it in a package like this—with perfect front feet, toe placement, great patterns, as well as an exceptional hip and hind leg—you’ve got something truly special. Add in the chest floor and rib curvature The Goat brings, and we think we’ve created something extraordinary. Not since Point Maker have we been this excited.

We sure wish he’d been born a little earlier, but boars like this don’t come around every day.
